WHY SHOULD WE LEARN ABOUT ONE OF THE MOST SIGNIFICANT ARISTOCRATIC FAMILIES IN EUROPE, THAT IS, THE ESTERHAZY FAMILY?

WHY SHOULD WE LEARN ABOUT ONE OF THE MOST SIGNIFICANT NOBLE FAMILIES IN EUROPE, THAT IS, THE ESTERHAZY FAMILY? VISIT GALANTA.
Are you a history lover or are you interested in culture? We offer excursions to the historic seat of the famous House of Esterhazy in the town of Galanta.

Did you know that the Esterhazys have an important place in the European history? The noble House of Esterhazy owned a considerable number of properties throughout Austria, Hungary and Slovakia. They also constructed several important buildings in Galanta. We would like to present them to you and to reveal some interesting facts about this illustrious family.

One of the most noteworthy buildings is the neo-Gothic castle, originally a Renaissance-style fortified building constructed in 1633. In 1736, the castle was rebuilt in Baroque style. The current appearance of the castle is the result of extensive reconstruction carried out in romantic English Gothic style in 1861. The grandeur of the castle, and all its styles, is simply breathtaking.

The castle is surrounded by a historic park with many trees and bushes, representing great historic, micro-climatic, biologic and architectural value. The monumental main building with its U-shaped floor plan is complemented by two lateral wings which surround the castle courtyard.

You can choose from a variety of unforgettable guided tours including visiting the castle, park, historic wine cellar or other sights in the town related to the Esterhazys.
